Participants will be offered a variety of rider services during the weekend of the bike ride. The information below highlights several areas of rider services. For any questions that you may have during the event weekend, volunteers and staff will be available at the Rider Services Tent at the Expo and the Start/Finish location to help you.
You have the option to store your bike in the Bike Compound at the Bike MS: Georgia Power Savannah Ride Corporate Village in the overnight area. The Bike Compound is a secured facility with volunteers monitoring it during the day and a hired security officer monitoring it overnight. Note: The bike compound will also be available for early arrivals on Friday, May 2, beginning at 5:00 p.m. Please note that you must have secured your rider packet beforehand, and affixed your rider number on your bike.
The Official Bike Stores for the Bike MS: Georgia Power Savannah Ride will have mechanic support at Break Points and at the start/finish line throughout the ride. Beginning April 1, 2008, all Official Bike Stores will offer free inspections for all registered riders. All riders with a bike inspection sticker on their bike during the ride will be offered normal labor charges for free. Tubes and other products will be available for purchase throughout the bike weekend. The last chance to obtain a bike inspection and sticker is at the Packet Pickup & Expo on Friday, May 2. However, all riders are encouraged to get their bikes inspected early to ensure time for any maintenance needed.
SAG vehicles will patrol the bike route for your safety and provide transportation to riders who need a lift to the next Break Point. SAGs do not stop to make bike repairs, but they will bring riders to the next break point where mechanics will be available. SAGs only move a rider forward along the route. For the safety of everyone on the route, no personal or team SAGs are allowed on the route. There is an ample amount of trained official SAGs on the route to support all riders.
First aid volunteers will be available at Break Points, and at the designated start, finish, and overnight areas. An ambulance will also be on route throughout the bike tour weekend. If you have any medical conditions requiring prescription drugs, please be sure to carry those medications with you. Our first aid stations are not equipped to fill prescriptions.
Motorcycle Marshals, along with SAG vehicles, patrol the bike route. This allows them to respond quickly to emergencies and traffic situations and radio for assistance when needed.
A non-denominational fellowship service will be provided at 7:00 a.m. at the overnight area on Sunday, May 4.
Food and beverages are provided throughout the route to all participants. Break Points will provide water, sports drinks, bananas, oranges and a variety of nutritious snacks.

- Dinner will not be provided – enjoy Savannah with your friends and family!
- Family, friends and team support members are welcome to join us at a cost of $5 per meal. Food tickets may be purchased at point of sale.
Designated parking will be available at the start, finish and overnight site for all participants, family, friends, and volunteers. Parking attendants will be on-site to direct you to specific parking areas. All motorists are cautioned to be aware of cyclists when driving their cars in and around the areas of the bike ride.
While riding, make sure to carry with you a copy of your driver’s license, emergency contact numbers, your medical insurance card, route map, your rider number, and any pertinent medical information or information about any medications you are taking. Also, helmets are required throughout the ride.
