During Georgia Rides to the Capitol, cyclists embark on free, police-escorted rides to the Georgia Capitol from various metro Atlanta areas. Led by city mayors, the ride exists to raise support for the development of regional systems of bicycling and pedestrian networks and to raise awareness of the benefits of bicycling as an important form of transportation, an excellent way to maintain health and fitness, and a great family activity.
