The Bike MS: Georgia Power Savannah Ride 2008 will once again highlight picturesque routes through Savannah’s Low Country and historical landmarks, moving riders through historic Savannah, around its famous squares and historic sights, then out to the scenic coast and back to Savannah. It will also feature a figure 8 route, allowing for greater efficiency and fun at the Start, Finish and Overnight Celebration, all headquartered at our host location, the Roundhouse Railroad Museum.
In an attempt to create the best possible route, local cycling experts and city officials were consulted regarding three main objectives:
1) safety – our No. 1 concern;
2) scenic routes; and
3) various length options.
Approximately 100 miles are covered during the two-day ride. Day One (Saturday) offers a 50+ mile option, while Day Two (Sunday) is 30+ miles. The end result is a two-day ride that will showcase the coastal region and offer time to explore historic Savannah with your friends and family.
